Oracle Education Empowerment Foundation, LTD
The Oracle Education Empowerment Foundation, LTD is responding with a mission to rebuild and revitalize the Tigray PK–12 school system. In partnership with Mekelle University and the Tigray Education Bureau, we are beginning by adopting two schools:
-
Romanat Elementary School – Over 3,000 students, ~60 per class, no running water, unpaid teachers, and unsafe buildings.
-
Hadnet School – Struggling to serve displaced families with minimal resources, while nearby high schools have been converted into shelters for the homeless.
Our immediate goal is to raise 1 million Birr (~$7,000.00) per school to provide urgent necessities, including school supplies, food, desks, mats, and safe learning spaces. Our next phase will include teacher training, trauma counseling, wellness and nutrition support, technology training, and eventually, medical and dental care for students and their families.

Tigray Pk-12 Education System Revitilization Project
The Tigray Ethiopia PK-12 Education Revitalization Project is an OEEF initiative focused on rebuilding and strengthening education in post-conflict communities. It restores damaged schools, trains teachers in inclusive, trauma-informed practices, and re-engages displaced students. The project promotes equity, resilience, and access to quality learning for all children across Tigray’s PK–12 education system.

The COVID-19 pandemic and the 2020-2023 Tigray Civil War—the deadliest armed conflict of the 21st century- claimed over 400,000 soldiers' lives and up to 300,000 civilian deaths, while systematically decimating the region's educational infrastructure. The pandemic initially shuttered schools and disrupted learning for millions, but the subsequent civil war transformed temporary closures into permanent destruction. Current data reveal that 1,487,600 students, including 729,267 girls, remain out of school, with the Central and North Western zones experiencing particularly severe impacts from both the pandemic's economic devastation and the war's targeted attacks on educational facilities.

OEEF has adopted two schools in Tigray and will raise one million Ethiopian Birr (approximately $7,000 USD) per school annually. Funds support school supplies, desks, teacher training, food programs, hygiene products for girls, and other essential needs. The goal is to expand partnerships and recruit additional organizations to adopt all 402 Tigray schools. The initial shipment of supplies will be delivered in November 2025. Every three months, additional shipments will be delivered to each school.
